Joseph Mayfield is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he majored in geography. While at the university he became active in the outdoor pursuits program on campus. Through this program he began teaching others outdoor skills in rock climbing and kayaking.
Josephs experience has made him a valuable member in Sight Unseen where he serves as a sighted guide. While with the team, he has climbed multiple peaks including Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams. Through his adventures with Sight Unseen, he hopes to change how the world perceives blindness as well as instruct others in outdoor related activites.
